Hi! We’re The Helpful Photographers.

Family photography is the heart of my business. I’m a mom of 2 boys, both teenagers, and know how important genuine smiles and connection are in your photos. I can wrangle a toddler and crack a joke with a teen. I’m a self taught photographer, switching careers to allow me to be home for my kids. I also enjoy helping clients look their best with branding and headshot sessions at my studio.

I’m proud of my SuperKids program, which is a way to give back to the special needs community with free studio sessions for kids doing hard things. As a mom to a son with autism, I know how hard it can be to trust a photographer. I love being able to use my talent to bless others.

Over the past 8 years, Erin and I have developed an amazing friendship as we worked alongside each other. Photography can be an isolating entrepreneurship, and having someone with similar goals and drive to bounce ideas off of has been such a gift. We want you to have that, too, with us!

Once upon a time, I was a high school English teacher and Yearbook advisor with a side hobby of photography. In those three years, I discovered that pivoting to a full-time senior portrait photographer was the perfect way to merge my worlds together. I love the energy and vision that teens bring to their photo shoots, and I’m honored to be a small part of a monumental time in their lives.

This year, I’m implementing Pretty With Purpose sessions into my routine. These are twice-annual sessions that pamper my current clients in return for their toiletry and personal-item donations to foster teens in our area. My clients have already donated to teens in Wilson and Putnam Counties, and we plan to spread the love all around Middle TN.

The experience that I provide my clients has evolved as I’ve transitioned into motherhood. Veda and Arden, my two young daughters, are my ultimate inspiration for how I pose young women, how I encourage them throughout their photo shoot, and the heirloom products that I provide each family to cherish when their daughters leave home.

Karen and I know that we, as photographers, play an important role in our clients’ lives. She and I want to help other photographers create thriving businesses so that they too can share their creative gifts for decades to come.
